About

About GN Yoyo Co:

We are a fairly new yoyo company with a small team of amazing people and yoyo players.  Our goal is to create high-quality products for people all over the world.  These high-quality products may cost a large amount, but we also offer our "not quite perfect" products as b-grades and for quite a bit less.  We also have many sales throughout the year where we create packages and reduce our prices for short periods of time, so keep an eye out for announcements.

Our current line of products include the Phoenix yoyo, strings, t-shirts, and extra parts including boxes, axles, and bearings.  We restock as soon as possible with more and more high-quality products to keep business flowing.

I started yoyoing in late May, 2013 when my older brother, Paul, started throwing. He got a Fast 201 for his birthday and I was fascinated by this.

My brother, Paul got me a Duncan Pro Yo for my next birthday. Unfortunately, That broke quickly and I got myself a Yomega Power Brain XP, Duncan Butterfly XT, and a Duncan Pro Z and practiced with those.

I do not like learning tricks, so I developed my own style. It is kind of picture trick like but with a little bit more yoyo movement. I like to do cool configurations.

My first contest was the 2014 Georgia State Yoyo Contest that was in September 2014.

Since then, I have gotten 15th at the Florida State Yoyo Contest and 25th at the 2016 Southeast Classic Yoyo Championships.

Although I will not be competing, I will be present at the 2016 World Yoyo Contest in August in Cleveland, Ohio.

Phoenix

In September 2014, a couple of guys got together to start GN Yoyo Co. In February 2015, we officially started work on our first metal yoyo, the Phoenix. Prototyping began in June 2015 and continued for the following ten months, until April 2016. Now, we finally have the finished product. We bring you the first yoyo produced by GN Yoyo Co, the Phoenix!

The Phoenix is the signature yoyo of Paul Zorovich, 2015 US National Qualifier in the 5A division. It is designed to fit his needs with a large diameter and width and a large undercut h-shape (that we call a z-shape) to force the weight out to the rims. The benefits of the size and shape include a solid, stable, and smooth yoyo that is great for any 1A, 3A, or 5A tricks you can throw at it.

The heavier weight also allows for a long sleeper, which enables you to knock out your long, contest combos and still have plenty of sleep left. Despite this large yoyo and heavy weight and thanks to the unusual z-shape, the yoyo itself feels much lighter than it actually is. This allows you to go fast or slow depending on how you feel like playing.

The Phoenix also has a large gap, but we have found a way to use Monkey Snot to help the yoyo to still bind hard. This means longer sleep times with an equally hard bind, great for competition.

Although the Phoenix has a spiked hub in the center, we do find the yoyo surprisingly good for talon grinds. Finger-spins will be more difficult, but the spiked hub keeps the yoyo’s weight distribution in check.

Design:

Although this yoyo is signature to Paul Zorovich, we give credit to Landon Balk for helping us with the design.

Rad Strings

by Ryan Danielson

These yoyo specific strings are made by Ryan Danielson and have been found around the yoyo community in places such as YoyoWorkshop Armament boxes.

We have been working with Ryan on getting these strings ready to be sold. Currently, we can offer yellow and white colors in Fat and Normal options. All of the strings are long-lasting and feel soft on the fingers from the first throw. This feature is great for those afraid of major string burns.

Normal:

This option is thinner than the "Fat" string allowing you to avoid snags on yoyos with small gaps. It also allows for longer spin times when used with a good string-centering bearing.

Fat:

It is a thicker, longer-lasting string that works great for yoyos with wide gaps, such as our first model, the Phoenix.
This type of string is also perfect for those learning how to perfect their binds. The thickness allows for you to knock out your long technical combos and still be able to bind at the end of it for another long sleeping throw.
